Doris Whitaker is a Board Certified Chaplain Ecclesiastically Endorsed by the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). 

She recently retired as the Director of Chaplaincy at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson MS. 

Affectionately called Pastor Doris, she serves as Associate Pastor of Outreach at Miracle Temple Evangelistic Church (COGIC). 

She also serves as Adjunct Professor of Leadership and Admissions Counselor at Wesley Biblical Seminary. 

Her expertise is in leadership, chaplaincy training and building Kingdom relationships. 

Pastor Doris loves God and His people!

I was born in the city of Chicago, into  a single-mother household. Baptized as an infant into the Catholic Church, I attended Holy Angels Catholic School from kindergarten to 8th grade. While spending time with one of my schoolmates and her father, I realized that an important piece of my support system was missing - my father. 

My mother is an honorable woman and worked two jobs to provide for my brother and me. I am forever grateful for her love and support. While watching the movie A Journal for Jordan, Dana, Jordan's mother communicated something that deeply resonated with me. In essence she verbalized the truth that even though she loved her child and had mother's intuition, that intuition alone was not enough to successfully raise her child. The father's input was absolutely necessary. 

My heart's cry is for mothers and fathers to work together to raise and support their children...they deserve all their parents have to offer.

At the age of 33, I entered an intimate relationship with God The Father. Yes, I got 'saved' at the sanctified church, and submitted my broken life to the leadership of the Lord. Shortly after this, I received the Divine Directive to find my father! This horrified me. I was scared. Do I look like him? Would he like me?  Would he hate me? Would he reject me? What if he still did not want me? 

A Divine Promise was attached to the Divine Directive from the Lord. The Divine Promise from the Lord, I WILL BEGIN TO REBUILD YOUR LIFE.  He has done just that.
